The Facebook Battles of 2012

Google+ Vs FacebookWhile Facebook has grown to over 800 million users and counting, the war will continue to wage on in 2012 with many of the large technology companies like Google, Apple, and Amazon.  Don’t be surprised if there never is a clear winner, because the market seems to at the moment be able to support the amount of large businesses grasping at the market share.

The Launch of the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS

Android 4.0 Ice Cream SandwichToday, Wednesday, October 19, 2011, the Android Ice Cream Sandwich Os (Android 4.0) was launched alongside the Samsung Galaxy Nexus smartphone in Hong Kong.  The new operating system is very different from its predecessors, with many new functions and updates.

Facebook Releases iPad App

Facebook for iPadFinally, the wait is over.  Facebook has announced today, Monday, October 10, 2011 that it has released the popular social networking’s websites web application for the iPad.  No longer will iPad users have to use the regular iPhone app blown up to 2x larger.  The interesting thing about this launch is that it had been rumored for quite some time, but finally has been released.

Why did it Take So Long?

Apple and Facebook have been negotiating for months after the two companies disagreed about Facebook’s integration with Ping, Apple’s music-focused social network.  This slowed the process of the applications release.

Where do I Download the App?

Currently, you can download the iPad app at https://www.facebook.com/mobile/ipad .

Enjoy!
